[Just For Fun] Throwback Thursday: KKGTASL #5

From a previous TBT:
I recently came across an old blog of mine that (jokingly) gave suggestions on how to save money in the most ridiculous of ways. I had such a blast reading it that I decided to re-post all chapters one at a time every Thursdays as my Throwback Thursday posts.

There were seven chapters, so I’m all set for the next 7 weeks. After all 7 chapters have been posted, I plan on continuing this series, hoping that future me would have as much fun as I’m having right now.

Please remember that this is all for fun. Don’t take anything from this post seriously.

Chapter Five: Decoration Ideas

First of all, let me just say that I did receive a nice suggestion from jan-na about a nice topic for this week's post, together with her new blog, but a suggestion from uzzie-bee seemed more fun, and I think more people can relate to it. Besides, I already have the photographs for the topic.

So this week, I'll be focusing on several ideas on recycling things to be used as home decorations (think fish eyes from Chapter One). All thanks go to uzzie-bee for the idea, and to Chef D' Angelo for more ideas, plus, this was where I took my photos, so thanks.

I'll move jan-na's idea, another great one to watch out for, to next week.

All ideas in this post, as in the previous one, are completely practical. As you will see shortly, some decorations can be seen in public places today.

1. Let me start of by reposting the fisheye idea from Chapter One. It stated: "take the eyes off the head (of your fried fish) and place them in a vase. Keep this a habit and soon you'll have a pretty decent decoration in your living room."

2. Ever purchased too much pepper than you needed for your adobo? Not to worry. Collect all extra pepper pellets and choose the solid, round, and bigger ones. Buy a cheap picture frame and paint it with glue. Now sprinkle the solid pepper balls onto its surface, replace the frame cover, and voila. See the picture to the left taken from Chef D' Angelo at Robinsons Galleria.

3. Onion skins seem useless, but they have cute purple shades too. Save your onion skin peelings and use them as coloring items. Instead of using crayons, paste onion skins onto areas you want to color purple. This makes your scrapbook or greeting card look more 3D and realistic. Notice however that this may not last as long as crayons do, so you might want to spread a layer of artificial coloring beneath the onion skins.

4. Aside from making perfect noses for snowmen, nice garnishes for your pansit, and healthy snacks for your rabbits, carrots can be used in other more creative ways. Purchase two pieces of carrots and chop off the leaves. Feed the leaves to your rabbits, they'll love them just as much as the root crop itself. Now get a headband and apply two blobs of Mighty Bond onto the upper left and upper right edge. Glue the carrot's flat side into the headband (i.e. pointy side away from headband) and wear the headband for an instant, practical, and creepy Halloween costume. After the party, feed the carrots to your hungry rabbits.

5. What if you bought too much macaronis than you were planning to cook? No problem. Do the same thing you did to the pepper pellets in step 2 and get the picture to the right, also from Chef D' Angelo Robinsons Galleria. Nice.

6. Aside from making a yummy breakfast, a baseball bat for kids, and (censored for containing explicit adult material) for the homosexuals, eggplants make great toys. Use it as a fetching stick for your dog (then feed it that afterwards), or in a catching and passing game with your kids right before cooking the vegetable. But most of all, you can use eggplants in decorating, right, another Halloween costume. Using a "halo" prop, rotate the halo to your back so the halo lies not above your head, but behind the top of your head. Then, using nylon cords, tie an eggplant. Argh, sorry, I just can't resist it. I love my childhood. Go Adventure Island!

7. Lastly, another one from Chef D' Angelo. Ever wondered how an adults' party looks like? I have absolutely no idea, but the pabitin might look like the following picture:

Hang used pots and pans, as well as garlic necklaces onto a grid and hang the entire thing onto your roof. Great as a decoration, but I imagine your adult party guests would appreciate it more when you dangle it lower and higher while they jump with all their might trying to grab a giveaway. Great decoration and great game for a great value. :)

That's it for this week. See you again next week for another edition of Kaptain Kuripot's Guide to a Sulit Life!
