[Just For Fun] Throwback Thursday: KKGTASL #1

I recently came across an old blog of mine that (jokingly) gave suggestions on how to save money in the most ridiculous of ways. I had such a blast reading it that I decided to re-post all chapters one at a time every Thursdays as my Throwback Thursday posts.

There were seven chapters, so I’m all set for the next 7 weeks. After all 7 chapters have been posted, I plan on continuing this series, hoping that future me would have as much fun as I’m having right now.

Here goes chapter one. Note that I kept the exact words I used then save for some spelling corrections (I didn’t want to change its tone). Note also that this is a five years younger version of me writing. Smile with tongue out

Oh and one final note: I swear, chapter two is waaay funnier. Open-mouthed smile

Chapter One: Fried Fish

Hello everyone. I was inspired by one of my friend's blogs that talk about how to save money. So, although I may be the worst saver on this planet, with the help of saving expert and resident superhero of the comic strip Katips-Ahoy, Kaptain Kuripot, here are several ways on how to make the most out of your plain meals/things/objects/drinks/whatever.

Disclaimer: Reader is to follow the tips on this blog at his/her own discretion. The writer cannot be held liable to any untoward incident that happens as a result of following whatever is written here. In short, well, don't take these seriously.

By the way, I plan on posting one chapter per week, every Mondays, so visit this page regularly if you like. Thanks!

Chapter One: Fried Fish.

After eating one of the most common viands in the Philippines, Fried Fish, more popularly known as galunggong or GG, what do you do with the left overs?

Throw them away? Feed them to your cats? Tsk tsk. That's obviously not the way to go - if you want to make the most out of your fish, and probably save mother nature, that is.

Here are a few tips on how to make the most out of your Fried Fish.

1. After eating your meal, collect the leftover fish.

2. Peel off any meat that's left sticking along the thorns, and use these as extra ingredients in cooking your favorite vegetable dishes.

3. The the fish's bone structure, and use it to flavor your soup. Just add the complete fish skeleton into your soup for that extra fishy taste (and smell). Wait, it doesn't end here.

4. After the soup is done and served, and possibly consumed, take the fishbone and wash it thoroughly. Then, chop its head off.

5. The body of the fishbone, if cleaned properly, can serve as an extra hair comb. I admit, it doesn't last as long. But you should eat another fish meal by the time it breaks, so you should be fine.

6. Now take the eyes off the head and place them in a vase. Keep this a habit and soon you'll have a pretty decent decoration in your living room. (See picture [below]).

7. Lastly, for the fishhead. It took me a while to figure out how to use it, and just yesterday, I created the perfect fishhead merchandise (using mspaint, haha). Tie a nice lace, or lace necklace, and voila. See picture to the left.

That's it. You've successfully killed the fish around five times, and completely exhausted all of its parts. You should be proud of yourself. ^_~

See you again next week for another edition of Kaptain Kuripots Guide to a Sulit Life!
